fred-wilson: the big five of social media RSS seems like a debateable entry here. Recognizing it as foundational technology, sure, but on this list it’s like awarding RSS an honorary doctorate for a lifetime of achievement when the other services listed all completed their dissertations: the honor is well deserved, but the recipient did something very different to get there. Update: Fred explained that he intended the RSS logo to signify blogs. While that’s a better fit than RSS as such, and I need to give that a little more thought, I may still hold to the “honorary doctorate” scenario. Interesting question.
