On the Billboard API Registration Process
I don’t know yet what I want to do with your API, you atavistic freaks, I want to experiment with it and see what happens once I start playing with the fucking thing.
Come on, people, you haven’t mentioned any limitations regarding what sorts of applications are and are not permitted to use this API, so it appears that either (a) you’re going to approve every API key application that comes through and this process is a waste of time all around, or (b) you’re going to approve and reject API key applications capriciously and more or less arbitrarily and this process is a waste of time all around.
Sigh. Okay, now I’ll go and make up some stuff to enter into those form fields.
UPDATE:
“Please describe what your application will do.”
This application will pull data from the Billboard API that will subsequently be either rendered for application users, manipulated and/or modified before being rendered for application users, or analyzed offline in combination with data from other sources, with some or all of the resulting final output being rendered for application users.
UPDATE UPDATE:
Received my API key as soon as I submitted the form. For those of you following along at home, that means that the answer was (a), and this process was a waste of time all around. Thank you for playing.
And I also regret that @alexlines’ suggested description of what my application will do came to late for me to actually use it: “This application will help people steal music.”
